The Community Cats Podcast and Neighborhood Cats –
Sat May 4th – 2-4:30 pm ET / 1pm CT / 12pm MT / 11am PT
Be part of the solution for feral and stray cats in your neighborhood! Learn best practices for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and colony management including getting along with neighbors, preparations for trapping, trapping itself, feeding, providing winter shelter, and more. Take advantage of the interactive format, extensive handouts, and video footage of actual projects. Instructed by Neighborhood Cats’ Susan Richmond, executive director, and Bryan Kortis, national programs director. Registration grants you access to the live event and also to the recording and related materials post-event.
Sat May 18th – 2-4 pm ET / 1pm CT / 12pm MT / 11am PT
The more cats you fix, the more impact your TNR program will have, right? Wrong! Spay/neuter volume alone is rarely enough by itself to keep consistently reducing a community’s free-roaming cat population. Discover what targeting is, why it’s so important and how you can do it no matter how large or small your program currently is. Registration grants you access to the live event and also to the recording and related materials post-event.

Return to Field: How Shelters Save Community Cats
Sept 16th (Sat 2-4 PM Eastern)
Instead of euthanizing healthy community cats (whether feral, friendly or otherwise), the shelter will spay or neuter, eartip and vaccinate, then return the cat back to where he was found. We’ll cover the policies behind RTF, the mechanics of implementing the program, current controversies over the RTF of friendly cats, and how to combine RTF with TNR in general to lower cat populations and create sustainability. – Helping Those Who Help Our Cats –
It’s not easy taking care of a colony of feral cats. They wait for you at meal time, rain or shine, whether it’s a hot summer day or a freezing cold winter night. The funds for their food come out of your pocket even when money is tight. After they get to know and trust you, many of the cats will warm up and rub against your legs, but others will always remain at a distance. Some neighbors are kind and supportive, but others misunderstand and are resentful. Often you act alone.
Every day, colony caretakers overcome these challenges because they love their cats. It doesn’t matter if they’re feral and live outdoors.
Supporting these guardian angels is a key part of Neighborhood Cats‘ mission. Your gift will let us continue working for these kind souls throughout the year.

WATCH The Trailer For The 3 Part Docu-Series About Our Obsession With Cats!
– Trailer –
“With more than 200 million cat owners, the domestic cat is the most popular pet worldwide, and everything seems to indicate it has now entered its era of glory.”
This documentary series, with original shootings in 6 countries, with unique archives and animations, and with a humorous yet serious approach, draws the remarkable picture of the very peculiar world of cats.
From Doug Hines, publisher of CatNewsHeadlines:
To paraphrase something I once read: We must continue to spread the word on behalf of cats. Whether deemed home companions, feral or stray, abandoned or free roaming, they all deserve our care, support and respect. Community cats are not responsible for the misfortune of being homeless in this human-dominated plane of existence.
I, for one, love them all.
“Thank all of you cat parents, guardians, caretakers and enthusiasts so very much for your love of cats and for your support of this site. I always thought that, if I could positively affect the life of just one cat through this site, then all of my hard work would have been worth it.”
